About the Role
Rupi Kaur’s work lives not only on the page, but in the shared space between artist and community. Social is a living extension of that relationship.We are seeking a thoughtful and growth-oriented Creative Lead to steward and expand Rupi’s social presence. This role sits at the intersection of storytelling, strategy, and execution.
You will help shape how Rupi’s voice shows up online, by taking the lead on creating thoughtful static posts and video content. The role begins part-time, with a strong expectation that it can grow into a full-time leadership position.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Lead social strategy across Instagram and Substack, with a clear focus on growth, reach, and meaningful engagement.
- Produce, film, and edit high-fidelity social-first video content from concept to final cut.
- Architect the monthly editorial calendar to ensure a balance of community growth, storytelling, and brand announcements.
- Work in person in New York City with Rupi to film content.
- Manage contractors or other collaborators (such as video editors) as needed.
- Develop a marketing and storytelling strategy aligned with upcoming projects and themes to engage thoughtfully with Rupi’s online community.
- Analyze weekly performance data to identify content wins, optimize reach, and pivot strategy based on audience signals.
Who You Are
- A Visual Native: You have a portfolio that proves you can edit video with rhythm and emotion, and you are fluent in the tools required to build it (e.g., CapCut, Premiere, Creative Suite).
- Experience in the Arena: 3+ years of experience in social media content development or management. You have grown accounts for artists, media brands, or creators. You have receipts (metrics) to prove it.
- Data-Informed, Not Data-Led: You use analytics to inform your creativity, but you don't let the algorithm dictate your soul.
- Understanding of Voice: You have strong writing instincts and the ability to learn and adapt another person’s voice with care and precision.
- Independent Operator: You are proactive, reflective, and comfortable managing up, bringing clarity rather than waiting for direction. You can manage your own work with minimal oversight
- The "Taste" Gatekeeper: You have a high bar for aesthetics and a keen design eye
